My name is Kahealani Poe. I am trying to find out the history of may family. My grandparents are Ah Ching Poe and Pauline Ho'ohuli. Who are both decease. My father is Alan Poe who is also decease. I wonder if you could help me find some information on my grandpa's family. His name was James Kaleohano Pahia Sr. I am told that the name Pahia is from the name Hauupukaioipahia or Hauupukaiiopahia which was shortened at a time when anyone possessing a royal hawaiian name would be put to death. I have no idea where the okina and kahakou would go in the name. Henry is believed to have jumped ship at age 17[?] in 1883 and latter married a 2nd time and had a 2nd family - he died in Honolulu after a fall at a construction site.
