Hi,
I am Americo Tomaz Nascimento Silva, Son of Jose Eduardo Silva, born in cape-verde in 1966.
I might be of any help.
My father is Jose Eduardo Silva, born in Santo Antao, Cape Verde in 1925, son of Eduardo Manuel Silva.
His Grandfather Manoel Zacarias da Silva (maried to Antonia Ana Silva) came to the capeverdean Islands, Santo Antao, from Portugal. One of his suns was named Eduardo Manuel Silva (maried to Francisca Joana Delgado), which was my father's father.
Manoel Zacarias da Silva and his two brothers brothers came from Portugal because of a terrible Illness.
Eduardo Manuel had some brothers whom left to America, as my father (still alive and 89 years old) does recall.
I will have to ask my father if he or his brothers and sisters alive do recall the name of 'joseph Silva" as one of his uncles whom left Cape Verde, Santo Antao.
His Father, Eduardo Manuel was musician and played the "cavaquinho" and went often to America.
Not sure if we are talking about the same people, but it is to obvious not to be so. As I look back I see the tradition of the names Jose Eduardo.
It is never Joseph, because the ph is not portuguese but American spelling.
But the name Eduardo is repeated throughout the whole family.
